Wildfire broke out around Lake Bisteneau


The Caddo/Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness has declared a state of emergency in Bossier Parish.

Area firefighters get some state help as they battle a wild fire around Lake Bisteneau. The Caddo/Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness has declared a state of emergency in Bossier Parish -- paving the way for state help. That help comes in the form of a helicopter, brush fire trucks, and bulldozers. The lake has been drawn down in an effort to kill hydrilla and giant salvinia and that's what's burning -- the dead vegetation that covers the lake bed.
