Police seek cell phone theft suspects caught on surveillance video

The suspects are seen on video taken by a security camera at the AT&T store in the 2900 block of East Texas Street on February 25, 2010.

Bossier City police are hoping someone can help them identify the suspects in connection with the theft of three cell phones from a retail store last month. The suspects are seen on video taken by a security camera at the AT&T store in the 2900 block of East Texas Street on February 25, 2010.

The video shows a man and a woman approach a phone display inside the store. The man is then seen putting in arms up in an apparent attempt to block the woman from the view of store personnel as she looks around and takes a cell phone and places it in her purse. The woman is seen later in the video taking two other cell phones and concealing them in her purse. The three phones have a total value of $1600.

Detectives believe the man wearing a cap and black shirt in the lower right portion of the screen was with the couple and is an accomplice.

Anyone who can help identify either of the suspects, particularly the woman, is asked to call Bossier Crime Stoppers at (318) 424-4100.
